Associazione Med / Uovokids (Milan), Artsadmin (London), Centre Chorégraphique National (Rillieux-la-Pape), Cyclo Association / Micro Mondes (Lyon), Dis-patch (Belgrade) and STUK (Leuven) and have joined forces in order to develop a Europe-wide cooperation aiming to realize an artistic project that brings the contemporary arts closer to children. The project introduces children to ways of developing critical and responsible thinking and stimulates creative approaches to the outside world.
Bamboo is a network aimed at supporting the production, promotion and circulation of contemporary artistic projects addressed to children (and adults alike). These projects will be created by seven European artists who are not used to working for young audiences. Within the framework of the project, these artists will have the chance to redefine and reinvent their own vocabularies and production methodologies.
The first phase of Bamboo network will run from 1 May 2013 to 30 April 2015, and will support the production and circulation of seven European artists realizing performances, installations and workshops specifically devised for Bamboo.
Bamboo has been granted funding from the European Union’s Culture Programme (2013-2015, strand 1.2.1 Cooperation Measures).
